The camogie section celebrated their end of season with a party in the clubrooms for the camogs and their families on Saturday 7 October, There was a lovely family friendly atmosphere at the gathering. Club secretary Anne McCormack paid tribute to camogie coordinator Yvonne McFerran for her commitment and enthusiasm in encouraging the young camogs. The gathering was delighted to welcome Belle O’Loughlin, who has held the highest offices in the Camogie Association. They listened with much attention to Belle’s account of the history of camogie in the Warrenpoint area. She encouraged the girls to continue to enjoy camogie and to take pride in their progress as their skills develop.
In recognition of the girls’ commitment over the season, Yvonne McFerran presented each girl with a medal and a certificate of participation.
In the coming weeks,plans will be put in place for the 2017 season and new members, in addition to existing members, are most welcome.
