Introduction

JobStart is a scheme run by the Department for Communities to help young people aged 16 to 24 get into the job market by offering six months employment

WARRENPOINT GAA Gaelic Games Schools Coach

Warrenpoint GAA is delighted to receive funding from the Department to employ a Gaelic Games Coach.  This funding will provide our local school, St Dallan’s PS with term time coaching as part of the scheme and the role will continue during the summer month in support of club activities.

Duties:

Working with Club School’s Liaison officer and Games Coaching and Development committee to:

  • Collating, devising and implementing skills development initiatives.
  • Creating and implementing training plans for children of all abilities
  • Transitioning school pupils into club members
  • Developing club coaching library/resources for each age grade
  • Co-ordinating and supporting outside school clubs in school/club facilities
  • Reporting to club officers
  • Co-ordinating holiday camps and schemes

Criteria:

Essential:

  • Access to transport

Desirable:

  • A recognised coaching qualification in any Gaelic Games code
  • An interest in Gaelic Games from a coaching/playing capacity
  • Experience in working with/coaching children
