The U8 team played in the final tournament of the year which was hosted by Shamrocks in Pairc Esler. The young blues played exceptional well, all players demonstrate high levels of skill and determination. The team went through the group stage of the tournament unbeaten and entered the knockout stage of the cup competition.
The young blues played Mayobridge in quarterfinals and at the end of a pulsating game the two young teams were level, extra time would be required to decide the winning team. Unfortunately for the blues Mayobridge just came out on top after extra time. The only defeat they had was against the eventual winners of the tournament.
The mentors would like to think all the players for their hard work this year. The development in skill level of all players in the team has been incredible and a joy to witness, well done to all involved with this team.
