Saturday 7 October saw 21 U6 hurlers travel to participate in an end of season blitz in the Abbey CBS against local club Newry Shamrocks. When the outdoor season started at Easter the U6 hurlers had 7 participants so to end the season with excess of 20 players is an incredible achievement.
The blitz itself saw Cumann Pheadaír Naofa divide our players into three evenly matched groups in terms of age and ability. Each team played three games against Shamrocks and every one of the boys performed to the utmost of their abilities. The boys have clearly been listening to the coaching every Friday with everyone moving the sliotar at pace and striking left and right.
The outdoor sessions are now at an end with a well-deserved break of 6 weeks before we start back to indoor training.
