The Under 21’s continued their run in this year’s championship with a win over a good Kilcoo side on Sunday. From the off the point lads were ruthless in taking their scores and led by 6 points with 15 minutes played with score from Aaron Magee and Ardal Murray the shots of the half. Kilcoo made a comeback and capitalised on the possession they managed to wrestle back from the point lads to only trail by 6 at half time.
The second half was fiercely fought and a re-energised Kilcoo team put the challenged to the Warrenpoint side. However a cracking Donagh McAleenan goal followed by great display of build up play resulting in an Antoin Magill goal saw the point lads push the game out of Kilcoo’s reach.
The final score was 2-12 to 0-9, the ‘point’ lads now play Saul in Downpatrick at 8pm on Tuesday night under floodlights in their second last game of Group 2, the last of which is a home clash this coming Sunday against a strong Mayobridge side at 12:00pm in Moygannon, come out and support the team!
