The Down Under 21 football championship got underway for Cumann Pheadair Naofa on Sunday at Pairc Liam Ui Ir, Moygannon.
The Point men from the throw in put the Men of Laitroim men under pressure at every opportunity. Donagh McAleenan opened the Warrenpoint scoring with a well driven shot from 25m out. The blue pushed forward with Aaron Magee netting after just 10 minutes with a well struck penalty after Donagh McAleenan was dragged down in the box.
Aaron Magee contributed another 2 points from play and found the net again for the Point to leave the Point men 2-6 to 0-3 up at half time.
In the second half injuries took their toll on the Laitroim side and The Warrenpoint men pushed on to end the game 3-12 to 0-7 winners. Next up for the Point is Clonduff on Wednesday night at 7:45 in Hilltown followed by Darragh Cross next Sunday.
