Teams: Mayobridge v Cumann Pheadair NaofaWarrenpoint’s U18 ladies travelled to Mayobridge for their second league match of the campaign on the evening of April 6th. With a strong wind blowing straight down the field, the match was a stereotypical “game of two halves”. The home team had the wind at their backs in the first half & made good use of it, heading into half-time with a 5-point advantage. With the turnaround for the second half, it was the visitors’ turn to make the wind count. Fine defensive work from the Blues’ back lines limited scoring opportunities for Mayobridge, whilst the forward lines overhauled the score deficit & more, ensuring that the visitors went home the happier of the two teams, having taken a hard-fought win.
Well done to both sets of players, who had to work hard in challenging conditions.
Best wishes to Ella from Mayobridge, who sustained an injury in the second half & had to leave the field of play.
