Congratulations to our U16 Ladies and management team who, only days after winning the U16 A League, secured their place in the U16 A Championship Semifinal following a resounding victory over Bryansford on Sunday 8th September in Newcastle.
From the outset Droichead Pointe set the scene and took an early lead, which they maintained. The girls demonstrated their skills and ability to work as a Team with well executed passage of play notching up the score board in the Blue’s favour. Half time score 0-1 to 5-11 for the Blues.
The Blues returned for the second half and held on to their lead, securing victory.
Credit to Bryansford ladies for being a strong adversary, never giving up, their determination resulted in them securing 2 goals in the 2nd half.
The U16 Droichead Pointe girls now progress to the semifinal stages alongside Carryduff, Bredagh and Saval – the draw for the semifinals will take place at Monday night’s LGFA County Board meeting in Kilcoo at 8pm. Both semifinals will take place
