Cumann Pheadair Naofa U16s travelled to local rivals Burren on Thursday evening. The point opened the scoring through Sean O Hare however Burren took control scoring 5 unanswered points. The Blues hit a couple of scores before Burren took control scoring 2-2. Warrenpoint finished the half well with scores from Aaron McBurney and Ruairi McCormack to leave the half time score 2-7 to 0-7 in Burren’s favour.
The Blues came out to the second half with a new level of work rate that clawed the game back to 1 point. Burren weren’t ready to give up and scored a goal to regain the advantage. The Blues regrouped with a well taken goal from Eoghan Byrne and point from Lorcan Ruane and Shea Madden. The game was level going into the last 5 minutes the super pulled away with a second goal from Eoghan Byrne. The entertaining game finished with Blues winning 2-16 to 3-10.
