Cumann Pheadair Naofa U14s started their 2018 season with a trip to our neighbours Burren##

With previous results at underage level between these 2 teams, Burren went into the game as massive favourites.

The first half was played at great pace and the young Blues began well and were matching their opponents in every sector of the pitch. Caolan Freer, Seamus McNulty and Jack Cole scoring some great points.

Burren caught the point with a few goals and led at half time by 4-4 to 0-5.

In defence Jamie Powell and Niall Rice had the unenviable task of curtailing Eoin Loughran and had greater success in the second half. With James Sweeney, Mark Campbell and James McKibben all playing well the second half was a much tighter game with Burren adding 1-5 to their total with The Point adding 1-4, the goal coming from Tiernan McGivern.

Overall the management were delighted with the display and the improvement in the team’s attitude and determination. The boys should take great heart from the final result Burren 5-9 Warrenpoint 1-9.
