Cumann Pheadair Naofa v Dundrum – Sunday 10th April, league match
The Warrenpoint u14 ladies got off to a winning start with their first league fixture, away to Dundrum, today. With blustery conditions the Blues played against the wind with an impressive 1 goal and 4 points from Katie Poland bringing us up to half time 1-4 apiece. The second half began brightly with Katie Quinn adding a goal and 2 points to keep us in front, before Dundrum hit a purple patch and took some good scores of their own to keep the contest tight. Further scores from Katie McGivern (1-0), Lilly Sloan (1-2) and Rachel craven (0-1) sealed a 4-09 to 3-70 victory. Stellar work by Hollie Rice in goal and Teagan Carvill in midfield plus some tenacious defending across the entire pitch helped keep a very competitive Dundrum team at bay until the final whistle.
