Cumann Pheadaír Naofa 4-4
Carryduff 3-2
Carryduff were the visitors on Friday evening to a very wet and rain sodden Milltown. Cumann Pheadaír Naofa were made to work very hard for the victory with some outstanding work throughout the evening in the Back line were Mark Campbell, Matthew Duffy and James Sweeney did their best to curb the strong attacking play of Carryduff. The blues forward line were very light up front and missed the influential scoring of Oran Murney who, through injury was playing in goals. At half time the sides were level with a goal coming from Ben Lock after a through ball from the unusually quiet Jarlath Donnelly and a second from Tiernan Kelly after a long solo run followed by a drilled shot low into the corner of the net. During the second half Darragh Austin continued his outstanding performance with a second pointed free and several great passes towards the forwards.
Two more goals from Oisin Gambold and the hard working Liam O’Connor kept the pressure on the visitors, although Carryduff gained a penalty with just four minutes left, fortunately enough it was blazed over the crossbar as the blues held on for victory.
