Teams: Cumann Pheadair Naofa vs Saval
A very wet start to the game rather dampened the enthusiasm of both sides, but as conditions improved, Saval began to take hold of the game. Fine defensive work from the Warrenpoint ladies saw them restrict Saval & kept the score manageable at half time. Saval must have been expecting to easily stretch their lead into the second half, but as the sun came out, so did the extra fighting spirit of Warrenpoint. A great fight back saw the ladies take a one point lead with 5 minutes to go.
Unfortunately all the hard work that had gone into the earlier part of the game started to take its toll & Saval rattled off some late scores to run out winners by 5-10 to Warrenpoint’s 4-7.
The ladies can be very proud of their hard work & the management team couldn’t be happier at the way the ladies dominated an excellent Saval team for most of the second half. Hold your heads high ladies!
