The U12 had their first match in the South Down league against neighbouring club Clonduff under new manager Paddy Lock. The young blues got off to a great start with an opening goal from the excellent midfielder Ciaran, but Clonduff were quick to reply and equalised shortly after. An own goal from Clonduff saw Cumann Pheadaír Naofa leading again, but the yellas were quick to equalise. Cumann Pheadaír Naofa had strong forwards in Jamie, Lorcan and Oisin and were soon in front again with a goal from Jamie ensuring the teams were level at half time. Then some great defending from John Joe, Eoin and Jason kept the score line close as midfielders Oisin and Oliver both scored some wonderful points leaving it a very tight game.
In the last 5 minutes the blues were trailing by 3 points when Oisin got a free from the half forward line and put it in the back of the net beating 3 defenders and goalkeeper. Clonduff came back strongly, but for some fine defending from Finn and Ethan they managed to get a point leaving the score line Clonduff 4-5 to Cumann Pheadaír Naofa 4-5.
