On Saturday past our Under 12’s were away to Liatroim for their annual U12 tournament. Teams from all over Down and Armagh made the trek out to Liatroim for the tournament. Our first game was up against Bryansford. We started very good but Bryansford were far stronger and managed to pip the lads to the post by 3 points.
In Our Second game we can up against a good Carryduff side and they played really well in this as a team giving a fantastic performance and won well.
Next up for the young point team we played hosts Liatroim and started out really well and scored two goals within first couple of minutes to go in ahead at half time. In the Second Half Sean Crawford took a bad injury to the head and was taken to hospital but thankfully he was ok, best wishes to Sean. The lads pulled together and managed to win the game.
In the Semi final We came up against Clonduff and unfortunately the shock of what happened to their teammate the players were understandably upset before the game but they got there heads up and took on Clonduff the boys and played really well but sadly we were beaten by 2 points from a lucky goal.
Manager Miceal Leister said “I am proud of my under 12s to do what they done and they give it all in their last game for their team mate and that’s what you call a strong bound between players”
