Cumann Pheadair Naofa u11s played today against a strong Newry Shamrocks side at St Marks Playing Fields, Warrenpoint.
The U11s were still coming together as a team and the run up to the match saw strong turnouts at trainings so the scene was set for a close fight between the two sides. The Newry Shamrock lads got off to a fast start bagging 2 goals and 2 points to no reply within the first 10 minutes.
Unfortunately for the Warrenpoint lads the tide did not change with the Blues finding it difficult to adjust to the strength and fitness of the older more experienced Shamrocks team. The Warrenpoint men however did not give up the fight and fought right to the end.
The U11s will now take on Mayobridge in two weeks which will draw the season to a close for the team. The hard work will not stop here for the lads the future is bright.
