The U16 boys got another hard fought win under their belts on Thursday night in Tullylish. But once again the young blues made things very difficult for themselves by letting their opposition jump into what was a goal and a point lead. It took nearly 12 minutes to register their first score from a well taken point by Niall Rice. The young blues managed to hold Tullylish scoreless the rest of the half by some very brave defending and a great stop from goalkeeper Niall Howlett. They also managed to add 4 more points which left them going into halftime 1 point up (1-1 to 5pts).
The second half proved another tough half due to wayward shooting from the Point and they still couldn’t shake their opposition of. It took 2 great goals to widen the gap , first from Niall Rice and the second from David Breen. They finally run out winners by 10 points (2-4 to 2-14). Another good result, although it must be noted we managed to kick 16 wides leaving us having plenty to work on over the next week.
Next match at home to Newry Shamrocks.
