It has been confirmed that Down GAA has named the U-21 Football Championship Trophy in memory of the late Patrick Dinsmore. The cup will be known as the Patrick Dinsmore Memorial Cup. Patrick played Minor Football for Cumann Pheadair Naofa until his untimely death on 22 August 2010 while playing a football match for Cumann Pheadair Naofa. Outgoing Club Chairman Feargal McCormack said that it was an honour for the Club to have the U-21 Football Championship Trophy named after Patrick Dinsmore who was a very popular juvenile member of Cumann Pheadair Naofa.
The competition commences on Sunday 18 October and there are two groups of seven teams with Cumann Pheadair Naofa placed in the grouping with Burren, Glenn, Saul/Darragh Cross, Mayobridge, Carryduff and Bryansford.
