Cumann Pheadair Naofa 2-15 vs Glenn 0-08
Glenn – 7:30pm
Ref – C Mooney
Cumann Pheadair Naofa were back in action on Friday past. The Blues travelled to John Martin Park in Glenn to take on a Glenn side who had made a fierce start to the ACFL Division 1 but in the last 4 games had suffered back to back defeats due to a weakened side and run of bad luck.
The game started with the home side hitting the ground running enforcing their style of play on the Seasiders. It took the Blues 13 minutes to hit the scoreboard with a wonder point from Ryan Mallon. The Point were playing catch up as the Glenn men were at this stage 3 points up.
Score from Aaron Magee and Ryan Mallon saw the point men draw level and a fantastic breaking run from Ryan Boyle saw the point men go 1 up.
Glenn did stick with the point men and at half time there was only 2 points in it 0-07 to 0-05.
The second half started well for the Warrenpoint team with Ciaran McCartan hitting the net to put the Point Men 5 up. Glenn only picked up 3 points in the second half but the Point men picked off point after point and Aaron Darcy on 49mins managed to find the back of the net to secure the win for the point men.
Cumann Pheadair Naofa now sit joint 5th in the table with RGU Downpatrick. Next up for the Point men is Clonduff on Friday 9th June at home.
