Cumann Pheadair Naofa Footballers welcomed Burren to Pairc Liam Ui Ir on Monday, always a close encounter and this night proved no different.
Both teams have recently been hit by a spat of injuries but two strong teams took to the field. The game was extremely close Sean Murdock of Burren and Conall McGovern sending over scores for Burren with Warrenpoints Ross McGarry and Donagh McAleenan evening up scores for the Warrenpoint lads with two from play and 2 from frees.
Half Time saw both teams went in with only 1 point separating the sides Cumann Pheadair Naofa 0-3 to Burren 0-4.
The second half started in Burrens favour with two scores from frees within 10 minutes of the restart but a resurgence from the Warrenpoint lads saw them get back into the game leaving one 3 points in the game with only 5 minutes to go. The Warrenpoint lads minutes from the end had a 45 awarded which saw Ross McGarry take the point and seconds later the Warrenpoint attack was awarded another 45 which this time taken short by Ross McGarry seen the ball fly inches wide of the post, a goal that would have taken the Point lads two points into the lead.
The Burren lads held on to the ball with a defensive set up over the next minute to hold onto the win in the end. The game finished Cumann Pheadair Noafa 0-7 vs Burren 0-9.
