Football Chairman Sean O’Hare was part of the ‘Marathon Match’ which saw him aim to get in the Guinness book of world records for playing Gaelic football for 24 hours. The ‘Marathon Match’ was the longest Gaelic football game ever played and was to raise funds for two charities – Cancer Focus NI and the Michaela Foundation.

The match took place on January 7 and 8 at the GAA’s Garvaghey Centre, near Ballygawley, Co Tyrone, the clash will saw the two charities bring teams of 42 players each in order to keep the action up for the full 24 hours. After a tough 24 hours in the cold, Mickey Harte eventually called time on the match and the players were informed they had infact made history and made it to the Guinness Book of World Records, congratulations to all involved.
