Saturday 24th September 2022 was a night to remember as Scór Sinsir was reignited after a two year break (as a result of Covid 19) with a range of clubs from East Down and South Down competing for Divisional titles in each event – Ceili Dancing, Solo Singing, Recitation/Story Telling, Ballad Group,Novelty Act , Instrumental Music and Set Dancing. The best overall act in each event was then declared County Champions.
St Peter’s was proudly represented in Ceili Dancing , Solo Singing, Ballad Group and Set Dancing sections. The success of dancing within our club down through the years was once again acknowledged as our ceili and set teams were announced South Down and Down champions! Both teams now go forward to represent Down at the Ulster semi final in Randlestown on Sunday 2nd October 2022 .
A further title was awarded to Warrenpoint for our endeavour to promote our Irish culture through Scór . Carmel McGrath, Cultural Officer proudly accepted the beloved Moya McCormack Memorial Cup on behalf of each of our club members who participated in Scór Sinsir 2022. Well done to all.
