Reserves lose out to a late surge from visitors

Cumann Pheadaír Naofa 1-11

Knockbridge 2-10

Knockbridge added 2-3 in the final seven minutes of this evenly contested Cuchulainn Cup Div1 encounter for a rather flattering win, as Cumann Pheadaír Naofa reserves were defeated at home.

A first half goal from Conor Keenan saw the blues take the slenderest of leads going into the second quarter, but with the wides stacking up the blues had to settle for second place. Manager Adrian McNally can be pleased with the performances of several new panellists to the squad and with a youthful panel there is lot to be optimistic about as he looks forward to next week’s fixture away to Carrickmacross.

Congratulations to the senior Hurlers, who for the first time ever, are sitting third in Div.1, after a well deserved 3-18 to 0-9 win over Clonduff. The Blues opened up a seven-point lead at half time with a James O’Hare goal early in the first half, further goals from John O’Kane & Oisin Kelly in the second half saw the blues maintain the pressure as they played some excellent Hurling, conceding very little to their visitors, limiting them to just six points from play.
