Club PRO and Social Co-Ordinator Aislíng McGivern was invited to the club to talk to the 26 young club members taking part in the Pointer programme on volunteerism within the local community. Aislíng, who herself has been involved in the club from a young age spoke of the need for our young members to keep the club alive, to build upon the foundations already set. Aislíng also spoke of the importance of balancing studies with extra curricular activities and the importance of the ‘holistic approach’ especially when applying for employment.
The young people asked Aislíng lots of interesting questions about her different roles and ways in which they can get involved. During the course of the session Aislíng asked the group to appoint a junior PRO each week and to update club members on pointers progress, Roisin McArdle produced the first short video to summarise that nights session.
