Former Warrenpoint player, Liam Ryan, returned on Saturday 29th June to Moygannon with the Niamh Martin U16 Ladies team, whom he mentors, to take part in a friendly game with the U16 Droichead Pointe girls.
This meeting was a good-spirited game which provided the opportunity to develop links with a club outside of the current U16 league teams. Both teams put in a great display of footballing skill, demonstrated excellent decision making, well-executed and precise passing and passage of play which resulted in well delivered scores on both sides.
The day ended with refreshments in the 125. This was a great celebration of ladies’ football and a note of appreciation is extended to Liam Ryan for organising his team’s visit from Monasterboice.
Thanks also to all parents for the donation of cakes and sandwiches. It is hoped that the U16 ladies will get the opportunity to travel to Monasterboice and return today’s visit in the not so distant future.
