A number of weeks ago, Castlewellan player Nathan Owens was injured whilst representing his club in a keenly contested round robin section of the U14 Hurling championship in Milltown. Fortunately for him the parents of some Cumann Pheadaír Naofa players attended and nursed him until such time as the ambulance arrived to rush him away to Craigavon Area Hospital. Thankfully Nathan has fully recovered and was fit and able to take to the field for Castlewellan today as the two sides met once more in today’s County Shield Final. By way of thanks for the attention and care that Nathan received on that fateful day his parents, Bernard & Claudine Owens made a presentation to the Cumann Pheadaír Naofa club and those who looked after him, namely Colette Lock, Averill Campbell and Martina Duffy. It’s great to see such comradery between these two clubs with the focus on the wellbeing of our players welfare being central to everything. Well done ladies!!
