Club Senior footballer Miceal O’Hare represented Cumann Pheadair Naofa in St Mary’s University Colleges first Sigerson title in 28 years.
The Belfast College who only have 259 male students in comparison to UCD of Dublins 1000+.
Paddy Tally’s ‘Ranch’ completed a remarkable campaign by denying Dublins UCD back-to-back titles in a hugely entertaining final for the Ulster men.
St Mary’s through Corey Quinn from Mayobridge and Colm Byrne cancelled out whatever UCD could throw at St Mary’s but UCD hung in to make for few nervy moments at the finish, but the Belfast University hung on for a first title since 1989.
Final Score – St Mary’s University College Belfast 0-13 v UCD 2-06
Well done Miceal we are a very proud club to have you represent us at the highest level in winning the Sigerson!
