U16 Ladies Reach Top Position!
Congratulations to our U16 Droichead-Pointe Ladies, who set out on Sunday morning (5th May) to play Saval, who had been unbeaten in the U16 A league and were the strong favourites for this encounter.
From the outset, the Blues took control of the game and secured the first scores. At half time, Droichead-Pointe, were leading comfortably, with 8 points in the difference.
In the second half the Blues were determined to hold their advantage and a fine display, without exception, of football ensued. Team play was excellent and with co-ordinated passing that would challenge the very best of teams, the ball travelled up the field at a blistering pace.
A strong defence, lively and interactive midfield and attacking forward line left the opposition with no options and resulted in a winning score of 1-11 to 8-16.
Well done to the Bluess – our next game will be on Sunday, 12/5/19 when Droichead-Pointe will meet Carryduff, in Milltown – all support greatly appreciated for the final game for the girls before their 6 week exam-break.
U12 Ladies Determined Efforts
Hard luck to our U12 Ladies who, despite a determined effort last Wednesday evening (1st May), succumbed to a strong Burren side playing in the warm sunshine at St Mark’s High School. The next U12 League game will see the young blues travel to Bosco on Wednesday 15th May – best of luck girls!
U15s in Ulster Final!
Best wishes to our own Enya Quinn, Katie Howlett and Caoimhe Quinn and to the rest of the Down LGFA U15 panel and management as they prepare to meet table-toppers Antrim in the U15 Ulster Final on Saturday 11th May. Venue and time still to be confirmed. Good luck girls!!
