Underage member Michael Carvill was the recipient of a GAA for ALL H.E.R.O. award, as part of the Ulster GAA H.E.R.O. programme for the GAA inclusion initiative. Michael was the inspiration for Cumann Pheadair Naofa, Warrenpoint’s introduction of the GAA for ALL programme and, without Michael there would not have been this wonderful programme in the club. Michael was also the first GAA for ALL participant in Cumann Pheadair Naofa.
He is an inspirational young man who brings positivity and friendship to the GAA for ALL programme and is a very willing helper during the GAA for ALL sessions.
Continuing the Carvill Family long association with St. Peter’s GAA Club Warrenpoint, Michael takes great pride in showing a photograph in the clubrooms of his late grandfather Michael Carvill who was a member of the last Warrenpoint team to win the Down Senior Football Club Championship in 1953, to all his friends who enjoy attending the GAA for ALL programme.
Michael was presented with his award at the recent GAA for ALL session by Club Chairman Larry Byrne who congratulated Michael on this well deserved award.
