Cumann Pheadair Naofa Coaches representing, Hurling, Ladies football and men`s football completed their “Foundation Coaching Course” certificate in St Mark`s High School.
This was a great club effort with sectional Chairpersons, Noreen Kelly, Conrad Madden and Damien Mc Conville working hard to identify coaches who would benefit from getting on the coaching ladder and knowledge which was displayed by County Coach Ryan Mc Shane, to this point we had a group of 14 attend and everyone made full use of the expert advice on offer.
Many a thought was shared as Ryan worked his way through thought-provoking workshop after workshop and at the end as Ryan said no one was wrong as it was down to interpretations, but learn we did as many a point was debated on the day.
After lunch time Ryan had the coaches paired off and each pair had to coach the rest of the group in techniques of skill and main teaching points of skill, after the session they were presented to the group to hear feedback which was not in short supply.
To finish off the day Ryan thanked all and just encouraged everyone to take back the skills learned on the day and adopt them in to coaching. Many thanks to Ryan, Conor O’Toole & our club representatives.
