Despite there being a definite October chill about the air, the playing fields of St Marks were packed to capacity with the U6, U8 & U10 Hurlers of South Down & beyond, as Cumann Pheadaír Naofa held the end of season club blitz. With nine pitches on the go there was plenty of games for all the teams and from 10am young Hurlers from Ballela, Castlewellan, Clonduff, Craobh Rua & Cumann Pheadaír Naofa were too busy enjoying themselves to notice the cold weather with every team getting at least three four matches. The Hurling section would like to thank all of those who helped set up the pitches, refereed matches and helped out on the day. A special thanks must go to Cabrina Rogan, Helen Carville and Brona O’Loughlinn who were on tea/coffee duty and a special thanks to Nicky Rooney of Fresh Foods for supplying goodie bags to all the participating teams.
