Having been announced as double Down Scór na nÓg champions at last weekend final the young dancing blues took to the stage in this Sunday in Ulster Semi Final where they faced tough competition from clubs all over the province. However the hard work put in by Cultural Officer and dancing stalwart Carmel McGrath along with teacher Turlough O’Neill most certainly paid, as the dancers and their supporters were on the edge of their seats hoping for the ‘The Point,’ dancers to reach another Ulster Final, Warrenpoint were again announced as ceili dancing champions and placed second in the set to a rapturous applause for all their Warrenpoint and Down competitors. Congratulations also to Clonduff and Mayobridge who also progress to the Ulster Final.
The young boys and girls now represent Warrenpoint GAA and Down in the upcoming Ulster final, we wish them and their mentors all the best.
