At the Annual County Convention in The Canal Court Hotel, the club were represented by senior committee members Eugene Gallagher (Chairman) Donal McCormack (Treasurer) and Aislíng McGivern (PRO). The night began with County Chairman, Sean Rooney, reviewing the year gone by and looking to the ‘bright future’ of Down GAA.
Following on from this, delegates at the Convention were addressed by County Secretary Sean Og McAteer and in his report, he made particular reference to some of our own members for their hard work and commitment to not only their club but also for their various County Committees.
He commended young referee of the year Micheal Moore for his commitment to refereeing in the County and wished him well in his journey through the Ulster Referee Academy. He then thanked Feargal McCormack for his service and assistance to the financial aspects of the county and also for his advisory role to Aoghan O’Farrell, the President of the GAA. Finally he thanked club PRO Aislíng McGivern who also sits on the county Communication and PR committee for her continued work and development within the communication section of Down GAA. We as a club thank all our members who work at both club and county level and who enhance their skill set for the betterment of the club.He commended young referee of the year Micheal Moore for his commitment to refereeing in the County and wished him well in his journey through the Ulster Referee Academy.
