The Addison’s Fundraising Day and Afternoon Tea in memory of the late Shane Nicholl, aged 11, who tragically died from Addison’s disease on 21 January of this year takes place on Saturday 11 June. Shane’s extended family have close associations with Cumann Pheadair Naofa, and the club have organised the fundraising event which consists of a flag day from 9am until 5pm in th town centre.
One of the main aims of the fundraising day is to raise awareness of Addison’s disease and the Afternoon Tea at our club premises in Warrenpoint will provide an informal opportunity to become informed about the condition and to mingle with club members and our local community.
During the afternoon former Down County player, Ireland and AFL football star Martin Clarke has been invited to launch a new club football jersey which bears the Addison’ s disease logo.
Anyone free to come along and help at the street collection is asked to meet at the club at 850am or come along throughout the day and lend a hand.
