On Saturday 10 th May 2017 Cumann Pheadair Naofa hosted the Annual John and Neill O’Hagan Memorial Tournament. Teams from Clonduff, Mayobridge, Newry, Rostrevor and Keady all travelled to Pairc Liam Ui Ir for the tournament and against the odds the weather was fantastic which added to the buzz and atmosphere that was present throughout the day.
Teams all played each other twice, allowing each team to have 10 games of football each so all players had a marathon of sport throughout the day. There was some fantastic examples of play from all teams and it is evident that all players train hard and work hard in training and all seemed to enjoy their days out.
Overall it was the footballers of Clonduff who came out tops on the tournaments aggregate system. Club chairperson Eugene Gallagher thanked all the teams and coaches for travelling to Pairc Liam Ui Ir and also the parents of the Warrenpoint children for their generosity for taking the time to prepare food and buns for the children. Moira Maginn spoke on behalf of the O’Hagan family and thanked the club for honouring both John and Neill, she thanked the teams for attending and congratulated the Clonduff team on winning the first O’Hagan tournament.
