On Sunday past the people of Warrenpoint and the local area came out in numbers to support our senior footballers ‘Blues Championship Breakfast’ kindly hosted and sponsored by The Whistledown Hotel. The doors opened at 0am and within minutes the crowds gathered in a packed function room to enjoy a delicious breakfast and soak up the ‘Blue and White’ atmosphere. The buzz about the function room with stories of past games, history and hopes for the future could be heard all morning, with old and young, true blues and neighbouring supporters, players and families and Warrenpoint gaels all enjoying this long awaited build up!
There was a steady line of people queued at the merchandise stand with flags and car flags selling out quickly! Chairperson of NMDDC Michael Savage was in attendance and made a generous donation to the club ahead of the Down Morgan Fuels SFC. Also in attendance were the recently crowned Junior Hurling Champions, lots of excited faces made their way to Captain Mark Rafferty for a photo opportunity.
