St. Dallan’s P.S. in association with Cumann Pheadair Naofa, as part of the Club /School Liaison Programme has introduced a new coaching programme to St. Dallan’s after school activities. During Term 1, Primary 4 and Primary 5 boys will participate in a hurling/ football coaching programme. The first session took place on Friday 2 October with thirty-six boys in attendance. Cumann Pheadair Naofa coaches Chris Rooney and Conor Keenan are delivering the hurling programme while Darren Rice and Ross McGarry take charge of the football programme. Principal Una Farrell and GAA Co-ordinator for St. Dallan’s, Brendan Rice welcomed the introduction of this programme to St. Dallan’s P.S. Cumann Pheadair Naofa Club School Liaison Officer, Anne McCormack stated that the programme will benefit all Primary 4 and Primary 5 boys who enjoy playing Gaelic Games. She stated that it will give the young boys an opportunity to have a taste of both hurling and football. Currently at under age level, there are a number of dual players and this programme will be ideal for the dual players in addition to those who are new to Gaelic Games.
