Cumann Pheadair Naofa Hurling section has launched a unique event , The Legends Return, featuring a Kilkenny legends hurling team, including DJ Carey , JJ Delaney and Tommy Walsh, who will play a St. Peter’s/Ulster Selection hurling team at Pairc Esler, Newry on Saturday 21 November at 4pm.
Following the hurling match, the Kilkenny Legends will participate in a Question and Answer session in the Cumann Pheadair Naofa Clubrooms, Mary Street. There will also be entertainment and a buffet. It is hoped to attract spectators from Down and throughout the province to the game, thus giving hurling enthusiasts an opportunity to meet with the famous Kilkenny hurlers.
Key support for the event has been secured from The Quays, Newry, O’Neills Sportswear and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
Gerry O’Neill, a member of the organising committee, stated that this was a tremendous honour and privilege for Cumann Pheadair Naofa to host this unique event. Plans are at an advanced stage and Club members are very excited that this historic occasion is taking place in Cumann Pheadair Naofa.
