Cumann Pheadair Naofa senior ladies had their first away match, post lockdown, against Tullylish on Saturday evening. Within the first few minutes the Warrenpoint ladies secured a score from Maria Sloan with a brilliant goal that was worked from midfield.
The seaside ladies worked hard throughout the first half with Maria Sloan scoring yet another 3 goals and Kate Kelly taking home a point from a free. Caoimhe Shannon worked her magic from centre half forward securing further scores.
In the second half, Tullylish got more into their stride & started to bite back with a 2 goals and 6 Points, however the Warrenpoint ladies had it covered as two more stunning goals came from Tara Cunningham and Silin Murphy & a flurry of points from various sources, including U16s, Erin Carr & Enya Quinn.
Warrenpoint senior ladies played amazing football from front to back, the midfield was exceptional with Meabh O’Hare and Lucia Morgan showing good strength and speed throughout the game. All the ladies played exceptionally well from goalkeeper Cara Bradley who saved a few shots on goal to the full backs & centre half-backs making the Tullylish attack work hard for their scores & the forward lines who powered the Warrenpoint ladies to a comfortable win. A massive congratulations to Erin Carr, Lauren Quinn, Lia Rice & Jennah Doyle for making their senior debut against Tullylish, there was some outstanding football from the under 16s.
