U16 Ladies Continue Winning Streak
It was an optimistic Droichead Pointe U16 Ladies Team who travelled to Downpatrick this morning, in quest of success in the 5th round of the U16 A League.
Droichead Pointe set their stall out from the start and nudged the score line forward with a number of successive points. A combined defensive and attack play, with a true team effort, resulted in a goal for the Blues just before half time. Half time score 1-8 to 0-6 for the Blues.
The second half saw Downpatrick returning with a strength and commitment to the game which kept the Blues on their toes. Downpatrick maintained a steady attack which was thwarted by a formidable defence. Despite the best efforts of a strong Downpatrick side, Droichead Pointe maintained a consistent and coordinated attack. Droichead Pointe’s well worked passage of play was effective in securing further scores in the second half. Three well-executed goals and additional 4 points secured the win for Droichead Pointe.
Congratulations and well done to the girls in Blue with a well-deserved final score of 4-12 to 3-10.
The next round of the U16 A League will see Droichead Pointe take on Saval in Mayobridge on Sunday, 5th May.
