Easter Outing for U14 Ladies
A special word of praise to our U14 Ladies who made the long journey to Downpatrick this Easter Sunday morning to fulfil their league fixture against a dominant RGU host side.
At the beginning of the game, in a fitting tribute, a guard of honour was formed by both teams to congratulate our own Cara Bradley (U14 Down LGFA goal-keeper) and the 2 RGU Down U14 players after their momentous victory over Derry in yesterday’s Ulster Festival of Football Final.
Today, in sizzling heat, playing with depleted numbers, the young blues fought bravely to the final whistle, after which they enjoyed richly deserved chocolate eggs, courtesy of the U14 management team.
Special thanks to the girls for coming out to play on Easter Sunday and, also to those parents who came along to support the team – your help was very much appreciated.
U12 Ladies Secure 1st Victory of the Season
The young U12 blues were in flying form last Wednesday evening against Mayobridge resulting in their first win of the U12 League. First time in goals, Fianna Madden was letting nothing past her with amazing strength displayed in her kickouts. Mia Townson got the girls fired up by scoring the opening brilliant goal while Kate Mansfield had her shooting boots on, scoring point after point. All the girls are showing great improvement and most importantly having great fun along the way!
Congratulations Cara!
Many congratulations to Down U14 players and management on securing the Cup in the Ulster Festival of Football yesterday – defeating Derry on a score of 5-14 to 1-8.
A special word of congratulations to our own Cara Bradley who once again put in a fantastic performance between the posts!
Well done everybody and good luck in the All Ireland Series!
