U11s opened their season with a visit to DKIT. For three of the lads this was their first taste of playing others teams after a few weeks of training under Averill & Colette’s watchful eyes. Their opening game saw the lads concede the opening score, but goals from John-Joe & Jamie ensured the blues with a first win of the day. Next up were Pearse Óg who found the blues movement of the sliotar hard to handle, again young Boyle, Eoin Campbell and Ciaran McMahon proved to be potent combination scoring seven goals between them to ensure another good win. In their penultimate game it was two of the newcomers, Cillian McCarthy & Lorcan Rowntree that opened the scoring, with young Lock and McMahon adding further scores for another emphatic win. The final game of the morning saw neighbours Newry Shamrocks prove to be a tough opponent and despite a goal apiece from Lock and McMahon it just wasn’t enough as the blues lost out by three goals in the end.
Congratulations and well done to JohnJoe Boyle, Eoin Campbell, Oisín Cunningham, Jason Duffy, Jamie Lock, Cillian McCarthy, Ciaran McMahon & Lorcan Rowntree.
