The 12th series of Operation Transformation is underway and one of last year’s fan favourites, Garda David Cryan, joined the group Sunday morning to give an update on how life has been treating him since he stepped off those very public scales.
David spoke to the Warrenpoint OT group and reminded them that he started the show weighing 19st 5 ½ lbs (123kg) and that during the course of the programme, he lost just under 20% of his body weight. As of today, he weighs 15st and 8lbs (98kg). “I’m feeling brilliant and I’m looking okay as well…I’m very happy with where I am now,” he told us, but I want I stay like this.
David spoke of his love of the GAA and of playing with Roscommon minors. Even on his way to his first day of Operation Transformation the Taxi man told him he looked okay at the weight he was. But he said he didn’t feel happy himself, “I needed something to change.”
David told the crowds in the club that he was could feel the comradeship and motivation within the room and he he also was not alone in his decision to make some changes. His colleagues at the Garda station, all help and they have lost over 400lbs (181kg) on the station and are still at it.
David answered lots of questions from the crowd and his words of motivation and encouragement will last long with the amazing Warrenpoint OT of 2019.
