In an extremely generous turn of events JP McManus has donated €100,000 to every Gaelic Games county board in Ireland to be divided equally among their local clubs. Tonight at the County Board Meeting in the Burrendale Hotel County Chairman Sean Rooney presented Assistant Secretary Daniel Bird with Warrenpoint’s percentage of the donation in the sum of €2083.33.
The €3.2m gesture to clubs has been made on the back of Limerick’s All-Ireland Hurling Championship win this year. We in Warrenpoint and indeed as part of the County of Down send our sincere thanks to JP McManus for this generous donation to all clubs.
