Our under 8 footballers had an early start on Sunday morning, hitting the road at 9.00am to make the journey to Saval for their annual U8 tournament. The young blues were split into Primary 3’s and Primary 4’s upon arrival and it was straight into action for both teams when the hooter sounded at 10.00 a.m.
All the hard work put in by the coaches and children was evident as both teams played some very impressive football.
The P4 team exited at the quarter final stage and the P3s who were playing particularly well had a fantastic quarter final win over Ballyholland, but they were unable to find this form in the semi-final losing out to eventual winners Clonduff.
Praise must go to Saval for organising and hosting a tournament of this scale, the tournament was played across seven pitches and the full event went off without a hitch.
