Warrenpoint 4-5
Enniskillen Gaels 1-0
Sunday morning saw the Warrenpoint U13s travel to Traugh, Co. Monaghan to take on Enniskillen Gaels in the Táin Óg league semi-final. A great start saw the Warrenpoint side lead by a 1-2 to no score at half time, the goal courtesy of Tiernan Traynor’s quick reactions in front of goal. Enniskillen, although struggling to shackle the blues attacking play, broke up the field several times and were foiled by the excellent Tommy smith in goals, who made several fine saves throughout the game. The second half saw Oran Murney add to the two first half points with a fine point from distance. Ruairí McIntyre added two more, moments before Oisin McGivern & Tiernan Traynor poached two more goals to give the blues a commanding lead. Enniskillen struck back when a long-range strike found its way to the net as they really started to put give the point side a battle in the final quarter of the game.
This result puts the lads into the finals day next Saturday in Clones. This will be a great experience for the lads and one they eagerly await to see who their opposition will be.
