On a sunny, Wednesday evening (16th May), an entertaining match took place between our U12 girls and close neighbours, Burren. Playing with the wind in the first half, the young Warrenpoint girls struggled to convert the chances they were creating. After an initial effort was saved, Muirin Sneddon secured a great goal. Burren went in at half-time with a six-point lead which they extended in the second half with the breeze on their backs.
The Warrenpoint defence was gallant throughout with Lauren Breen commanding her patch heroically as usual. Millie Power-Bagnell had a great game in nets and pulled off some excellent saves. Lillie McClorey and Kate Mansfield both tried very hard against their classmates. In the third section of play there were some great scores by the Point girls but in the end the bragging rights belonged to Burren. Our next game is away to Mayobridge on Wednesday 23rd May – hopefully everyone brings their shooting boots!
