Cumann Pheadaír Naofa 6-20
Ballyvarley 1-2
Warrenpoint hosted Ballyvarley at Páirc Liam Uí Ír on Monday night on Monday night in round 5 of the ACHL Div.2. Ballyvarley tried hard to make a game of it, but with the blues on home turf and playing some super Hurling, it was just too much to ask for the visitors to be able to topple an inform and well drill Warrenpoint side. First half goals from Kevin McCullagh and two from James O’Hare were enough to see Tom Daly & Conor Tinnelly’s men comfortably ahead at half time 3-11 to 1-2. Ballyvarley failed to score in the second half as the home side bagged three further goals, two from Conor Keenan & sixth from Jamie Grant. This victory sees Cumann Pheadaír Naofa go top of Division 2 and sets up next week’s encounter, away to Ballygalget, as a mouth-watering top of the table clash.
