With the new season fast approaching we are asking for the support of parents/guardians and club members in raising the vital and necessary funds to continue to deliver the level of activity which we believe is necessary to ensure a safe, caring, well-resourced GAA Club. We are delighted that during the closed games season, much planning has gone into preparation for the forthcoming season, with new volunteer mentors appointed, five year extension of Facilities Strategic Alliance with St. Mark’s High School, organising of Child Protection Courses, Access NI briefing sessions, First Aid courses, and participation in a range of coaching courses across all codes achieved –to share some examples.
Down GAA Clubs Draw is a core fundraiser to cover club operational activities and costs. On average the annual cost associated with running an underage team is approximately £5,000.00. (None of our volunteers get paid). The Down Clubs draw is one way of demonstrating your support for the club. The draw offers £110,000 prizes over a twelve month period and for every ticket sold by the club, the club receives £96 to fund club activities. Tickets can be purchased from any senior committee member, by contacting draw coordinator Donal McCormack or by messaging us on Facebook. We have been lucky enough to have quite a few winners in this years draw. Remember if you aren’t in you can’t win!
