On Sunday past in Downpatrick the U16 girls took on RGU Downpatrick in a League Match and it was great to see such a great turnout to support the team.
The Warrenpoint girls got off to a great start with two goals from Rihannon Bryne and a goal and three points from Caoimhe Shannon to lead by three points at half-time.
The second half saw Downpatrick come back with a few scores as the girls played against the wind. Tara Cunningham came off with a head injury. A very tight game at the end with more scores from Rihannon and Caoimhe but Downpatrick fought to the end and secured a win with a final kick of the game to win by a point. A brilliant performance from all the girls.
Final score: Cpn 5-09 Downpatrick 4-13
